[News]Iwata spreekt, deel 2.
"Optical discs are generally considered to be the dominant media over mask ROMs, but this is not the case in every situation. I don't think devoting ourselves entirely to discs is the best answer, but if we can solve problems like size, weight, and power usage even with optical discs, then Nintendo is not against utilizing discs in its portable games in the future."Zoals je kan lezen zijn optical disks dus erg duur, maakt het de console groter en zijn ze niet helemaal shockvrij.
We're heading for a total of two million SPs in the month of August alone. Our goal for this fiscal year was 20 million for the SP and the earlier units, but now the outlook calls for breaking the 50 million mark. This July, the SP sold 90,000 units a week in North America, and the old GBA sold 30,000 units a week. In Europe, the fires are 50,000 per week for the SP and 15,000 to 20,000 per week for the GBA... "[Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire] went on sale July 25 in Europe, and we have shipped about 820,000 units. This turnout is on the same level as we had when we launch the games in North America last March. We will undoubtedly break the 10 million mark worldwide easily during this year."Nintendo verwacht dus een gigantisch aantal verkochte GBA (SP)'s begin Maart 2004. 50 miljoen schatte Iwata.
