n an interview with Spanish online site Meristation, Nintendo of Europe's Director Of Marketing Jim Merrick mentioned a few interesting items in regards to the Nintendo Revolution. Nintendo's new Wi-Fi Connection service will be launched later this month, and for those who don't have a wireless setup, as we reported earlier, a USB adapter will be sold that will allow for a quick and easy wireless connection to be created. Merrick revealed that the Nintendo Revolution will also be able to use this adapter for online gameplay. This doesn't strike out that the Revolution won't have a LAN/Network port on the system, but this further confirms the system will be Wi-Fi ready out of the box without an extra wireless adapter. Merrick also stated that the Revolution will have a worldwide launch. The Revolution won't launch on the same day in each region, but would be stretched out over a maximum time period of 14 weeks. No region was announced to be the first, but if history serves as any indication, expect Japan to launch first. Also, taking a cue from its multiplayer-via-one-cart philosophy the company adapted for a number of Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS titles, titles on Revolution will also allow for multiplayer gaming on multiple consoles even if only one person actually has purchased the title. How deep this gameplay experience will be is unknown, but in the past it's mostly been just a taste, not the full on experience. Finally, for those waiting patiently to see an actual Revolution title in action, you'll have to wait a little longer. Merrick stated that Nintendo won't be showing any Revolution titles this year, and won't show any Revolution titles until the game is functional with the Revolution's controller. Nintendo wants to show the games in playable forms - not via screenshots. We'll have more on the Nintendo Revolution when it becomes available.
