Nintendo gaat niet voor Bungie

Perrin Kaplan heeft gezegd dat Nintendo geen plannen heeft om Bungie in te lijven. In dit bericht staat de reden daartoe. Tot voor kort was Bungie, het bedrijf achter de succesvolle Halo serie, een exclusieve ontwikkelaar voor Microsofts platformen. Het is echter tot twee gescheiden wegen gekomen waardoor Bungie nu een onafhankelijke ontwikkelaar is en in principe naar eigen wens games mag ontwikkelen voor welk platform dan ook. Aan Perrin Kaplan, hoofd van de afdeling marketing Nintendo of America (NoA) werd gevraagd of Nintendo met plannen zal komen om Bungie te interesseren voor de DS of Wii. Het antwoord is hieronder in een interview te lezen.

MTV Multiplayer: Those Bungie guys are a little more free than they were before. They’re not that far away from your guys’ office. Are you going to reach out to them at all? 

Kaplan: We don’t have any plans to reach out to them at this juncture. No, Nintendo’s got it’s hands full. 

MTV Multiplayer: Would it be nice to have a Bungie game on the Wii, though? 

Kaplan: Hard to say. I think it comes down to innovation and creativity. I think they would have to present what it is their idea would be. 

MTV Multiplayer: You’re not making them feel very wanted right now. 

Kaplan: You know, we love all good innovative companies but we don’t have any plans on the table right now with Bungie.
