"Wii tekorten zijn niet gefaked!"
Nintendo reageert op de stroom van geruchten dat de Wii tekorten zouden zijn geveinst als slimme marketingtruc. De Wii tekorten blijven nu al maandenlang aanslepen. Zelfs na bijna meer dan een anderhalf jaar na de release, is de Wii nog steeds moeilijk te vinden. Hoewel het lijkt dat Amerika hier meer last van heeft dan Europa, werden er toch al snel complottheorieën bedacht. Volgens Nintendo is dat echter pure onzin. Dankzij de grote vraag naar de console, is het wel degelijk moeilijk voor hun om steeds aan de vraag te voldoen. De Wii bereikt immers een zeer groot publiek van gamers, maar ook - en vooral - non-gamers. Diegenen die nog nooit eerder een controller hadden aangeraakt. De productie draait in ieder geval op volle toeren en er wordt steeds alles aan gedaan de tekorten tot een minimum te herleiden, aldus Nintendo.
