Activision boekt succes...THUG 2 coming!

Activision's resultaten van 2003 bekend...en een aankondiging van THUG 2... Activision heeft, netals vele andere bedrijven, vandaag hun resultaten bekend gemaakt van het laatste stukje (quarter) in 2003. Het bedrijf maakte bekend 508.5 miljoen dollar te hebben verdient, een 34% stijging ten opzichte van eind 2002, waarin het totale inkomen 378.7 miljoen dollar was. Topsellers voor Activision waren Call of Duty, True Crime: Streets of LA en Tony Hawk's Underground. Alle 3 deze games stonden in de top 5 van de best verkochte games in Amerika eind vorig jaar. Activision's Robert Kotick: I am very pleased to announce that the company delivered record results for the third quarter and first nine months of fiscal 2004. Our three holiday titles were all top-five selling games for the holiday season and represent some of the highest quality, most innovative products that we have ever created. The success of our two new original properties, True Crime: Streets of L.A. and Call of Duty, and the new direction for the Tony Hawk brand have resulted in three new franchises from which we expect to develop a variety of games for multiple platforms for years to come. Activision kondigde naast deze goede resultaten nieuwe games aan voor 2004, waaronder (voor de kleintjes) Shark Tale en Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Even, die de sowiezo al sterke Actvision line-up van dit jaar, bestaand uit de games Spider-Man 2, Shrek 2, Doom 3, Call of Duty: Finest Hour en Rome: Total War, nog eens versterken. Tot slot kondigde Activision een sequel aan op het populaire Tony Hawk's Underground, die de tijdelijke naam THUG 2 draagt. Zoals je ziet is Tony nog lang niet verdwenen uit de spotlights!
