Genomineerden Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2017 bekend gemaakt

Voor het zestiende jaar op rij heeft Game Critics Awards de meest noemenswaardige items op de E3 genomineerd. Elk jaar wordt er door de Game Critics Awards bekendgemaakt welke games op de E3 de grootst indruk maakte. Deze lijst wordt samengesteld door een groep van 40 onafhankelijke internationale media die game-industrie vertegenwoordigen en is opgedeeld in zeventien verschillende categorieën. Nintendo-gerelateerde games en games die op Nintendo platformen zullen verschijnen komen in maar liefst elf van de zeventien categorieën terug. Een belangrijk criteria voor nominatie is het aanwezig zijn van een speelbare hands-on van het betreffende spel die voor minstens vijf minuten gespeeld kan worden. Dit diskwalificeert automatisch games als Beyon Good & Evil 2 en Metroid Prime 4, welke wel getoond werden tijdens de respectievelijke shows, maar geen hands-on beschikbaar hadden op de beursvloer.

Enkele interessante feiten vooraf:
[*] Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is in vier categorieën genomineerd.
[*] Super Mario Odyssey is in drie categorieën genomineerd. 
[*] Nintendo is als uitgever in totaal vijf maal genomineerd, dat is twee nominaties meer dan in 2016
[*] Ubisoft is van alle uitgevers het vaakst genomineerd en boekt een winst van elf nominaties ten opzichte van 2016
[*] EA Games moet genoegen nemen met vijf nominaties, vijf minder dan in 2016
